HySafe organises the worldwide unique biennial conference on hydrogen safety. Based on a mutual agreement the ICHS is co-organised by the IEA HIA since 2009. There has been a special newsletter of the IEA HIA with this regard.
The 1st ICHS was organised in Pisa, Italy 2005, hosted by University of Pisa. The 2nd ICHS took place in San Sebastian, Spain 2007, hosted by INASMET. The 3rd conference was organised in Ajaccio, Corsica, France 2009 and was hosted by CEA. The next venue in 2011 will be San Francisco, USA. The host will be Sandia National Laboratories.
This conference, worldwide uniquely addressing the hydrogen safety topic, is the major meeting point and information exchange platform for all involved parties. Other related events, like the IEA HIA Task 19 and ISO expert group meetings are organised in combination.
Besides HySafe partners organise educational courses for academic recipients, like PhD students, post-docs or professors (teach the teacher) and training courses on the other side with a focus on industry relevant aspects.
